Autumn leaf clearing

Autumn is well and truly in full swing and the first few days of work experience have seen our efforts concentrated on leaf clearing. It's November so the Oak trees have finally  started to lose their leaves after a relatively balmy September and October. Looks like I'm going to have my work cut out right the way through until Christmas. It's going to be a busy few weeks!!

Armed with rakes, blowers, leaf scoops and builders bags we set about the unenviable task of getting these gardens in ship shape condition. Luckily there's composting sites here to save us taking our work home with us!!

REFLECTIVE COMMENTS
With my primary aim to learn skills required to set up my own garden design, gardening and garden maintenance business, the first skill I learnt was seasonal clearing, such as leaves from lawns, beds, driveways, patio areas and ponds, using rakes, brooms, and leaf pickers.  Clearing weeds with the use of a hoe and finishing the beds to make them look professional (ie. turning the soil to aerate and oxygenate) and cutting in to the front of the bed to give it a
definitive finish. These skills were soon picked up and witnessed by John Nash who owns the
.company, all to his satisfaction
